Any registered user can contribute to the wiki in two main ways: to the wiki itself, and on [https://github.com/NixOS/nixos-wiki-infra the GitHub repository].

== Contributing content ==

Only registered accounts are allowed to edit pages. Therefore, if you'd like to add a new page or edit existing pages, [[Special:CreateAccount|create an account]] on the wiki. You might also have to confirm your e-mail address to contribute to some pages.

You should read and be aware of the [[Project:Manual of Style]] before contributing content to the wiki. If you need help getting started, read the [[Help:Editing|editing help page]] or [[Help:Syntax|syntax cheatsheet]].

Consider joining the [[Help:Community|NixOS Wiki community]] on Matrix to stay up to date with the latest project-wide efforts. There are occasional [[Help:Meetings|NixOS Wiki meetings]] which are open to any editor that wants to get involved in coordinated work across the whole website.

== Contributing to the infrastructure ==

The NixOS Wiki infrastructure is community-run through [[:Wikipedia:IaC|Infrastructure-as-Code]] configuration, and any changes to it are managed via Pull Request. Naturally, conversation regarding any such proposals happen there and on the Matrix channel. You can [[Help:Infrastructure|open an issue]] or a pull request to suggest changes to the community.
