I just opened the Gamemode page from a search engine and stumbled upon this removed redirection (I have a redirect from old to new wiki set in Kagi, so maybe that's why it showed up in results). Redirections are pretty useful, even if it is just a change in spelling, so I don't see a reason to remove it.
