Getting started

Esta es la Wiki oficial de NixOS. Esta incluye temas que no han sido discutidos en el Manual de NixOS: Guías de usuario de NixOS, ejemplos de configuraciones, y tips para solucionar problemas.

NixOS es un sistema operativo de Linux basado en el administrador de paquetes Nix y el repositorio de paquetes Nixpkgs.

Newcomers to NixOS are encouraged to read the Nix Core Ecosystem overview article to get a comprehensive orientation. For more specific introductions, see:

If you want to try Nix standalone in another Linux distribution or on a Mac, take your first steps on nix.dev.

Existe mucho software adicional excelente en el ecosistema Nix, como por ejemplo:

Home-manager para gestionar los contenidos de los directorios profile y home.
Nix Flakes en lugar de nix-channel.

Estos añaden complejidad y pueden resultar confusos al principio, e incluso puede que decida que no los necesita. Comience con Nix/NixOS básico, y solo integre Home Manager y/o Flakes en su configuración una vez que se sienta seguro con Nix/NixOS y comprenda su importancia.
